THIS AND THAT

OK I haven't posted for two reasons, one because I've been busy with fun things and boring things too, and two because my mind has been clouded with long term decision making stuff that hasn't been sorted in the least. When you mind is stuck on something and it isn't settled, you'd rather hold out before reporting to the world. However I have nothing to report and nothing settled so let me tell you some random news:

1. Had a rad weekend in Nozawa Onsen, my first full weekend of skiing, went with Debs, Martie and Keiko and got a little minshuku in town. I do love that town and the snow was good. It's really warm all of a sudden now and it's raining right before the snow festival this weekend. Arrr!

2. I passed my Japanese proficiency test, not in any emphatic way (69%), but enough for the pass. So I'm proud of myself, but also pretty sure that I filled in the right multiple choice squares at the right time to help me that much more...meaning that luck maybe had a hand.

3. MY MOMMY'S COMING TOMORROW. And my Aunt Susie too on Saturday! Not quite sure what we'll do, just check out the snow festival and hit the onsen and a ryokan for a night.

4. My new MP3 player is pretty.

5. I WANT MORE SNOW.

Overall just looking foward to family coming. It'll be the first time someone from the Motherland will come up my way (Susie and Mia came from Okinawa a while back). Ely reports that he'll make it here in the spring. Insane!

OK I'll update...not much to report here...just waiting for things to happen...slept in before some night skiing tonight (it's some kind of dumping outside!) and just thinking a lot about decisions. It's hard to plan much from Japan, because you are rarely bored enough to think much beyond the present.

Also just getting excited for Mom and Susie's visit in a couple weeks. They'd better bring a snow jacket.

Happy Birthday Dad!
