ladies night

Last night the Ladies Night crew went to the cinema in Joetsu to see Star Wars...I was impressed with the flick but even more impressed by the theater. Maybe it's been too long since I've been in a movie theater, but it was tons of fun and mega-plush. PLUS, in an ironic twist, Tuesday night at this theater is actually Men's Night...meaning only guys get a big discount on tickets! ha ha. It's the only 'men's' discount I've ever seen I think. Only in Japan...

Hey, I'm about as dudely as they come, except for ladies night, when I can keep up with the gossip experts. just ask the girls! yah it can be pricey here, hey? Find some unsuspecting man and make him pay, i say...especially if he's getting discounts!

a date to the cinema aint the cop out here that it is at home... its a fuckin mission for the dude to get you to the cinema (ie they are sooo far away unless u live in Sanjo or Joetsu!) then costs a weeks wages to get u both in and popcorn!!! topclass dating.
Erik loves girls night, he's a regular, loves trading make up tips.... and can i point out the "big discount" erik refered to was 300yen.......?!
:D

Well, it would have been 800yen if we'd gone for an earlier showing. But like you say, it takes ages to get to ANY cinema from Toka so any showing before 8 would be impossible.

Talking of Ladies Night. You know that song that's always played in teh pool bar. Well, I'm sat listening to BBC and it's playing. Right now.

I swear that song stalks me.

yah I guess you can't look at the cinema here as your classic dating experience. I suppose for a classic Japanese date you'd have to just go to an izakaya, eat some seaweed, and drink a lot.

I say we bring in our own music. We have power in this town, I tell you...debs, floor me at what? too much going out? or floor me at darts? I've accepted that I won't have much relaxing time at home for a long time. Remember last night when I said I HAD to go home and relax for once? I went straight from the gym to yakiniku, stayed there till 9, got a phone call from Japanese Conversation Girl and was out in Mizusawa past midnight. So I'm just gonna give up on the whole relax at home thing. Let's party! We got a visitor! Can I pretend that she came to visit me too? OH Debs remind me to tell you about beer garden details...

course u can pretend alice is ur guest too!! which yakiniku u go to? sakai? were gona go there tonight i think, maybe, if u wana come along? fuck quiet nights in, we can do that when were old. Its my bday in 3 days, lets start the ball rolling and just get fuckered everyday from now til nexttuesday (when by bday period offically ends, and the hangover starts)

ha ha, yah debs, I sort of wiped that little incident from my memory. Let's just pretend we're talking darts, ok? You throw a mean bullseye.

I went to Yakiniku Aya. What time you doing Sakai? You guys should do their cheap nomihodai. OH anyway i'll just tell you about the beer garden stuff on my blog then...Ayumi says it's not like it was before where it was 4000 yen for nomihodai and tabehodai, it's now only 1800 yen for nomihodai and then you can order each plate of food separately. I'm not sure if the extra menu there is good or cheap, so you may want to consider getting people fed before the nomihodai. She said Sunday is busy but she's already mentioned it to them and they've put us down for 15-20 people so far. Everyone come to Debbie's party!

Yah I agree about the bye-bye to quiet nights. It's yo birthday, and summer has officially started I say...too bad we still have to work.

I'm heading to Joetsu to watch Batman and buy and new camera. The flash has broke on mine and it's 2 and a half years old so time for new one, esp in time to capture Debs getting fuckered!!
Will you be out late tonight? I might join you for a quick one around 1ish if you're still out.

yea, i just spoke to alice, shes in tokyo and said shes shattered after the flight, so im not sure she'll be up for much after eating and a couple of beers. Think nomihodai tonight is out!!
The deal at the beer garden sounds wicked. Cuz it makes it cheaper for everyone, esp those who dont wana eat... sound as a pound. cheers luv. Have we double booked tho?/ cuz i got a txt from keiko saying she called and reserved a table??!

yah we might have a big double booking going on here...i'll speak to ayumi...also I don't think I'll be out for dinner tonight cuz I gotta burn through some chicken in my fridge, and I bet Alice won't even be conscious...tomorrow night I'll walk from my lesson to Yamanne (it's just down the street) about 9:30 and meet you guys there.

geez it's much quicker doing this here than thumbing through my keitai!
